Family Matters: Business and Wellness Wisdom from Kendall's Daughters
Aug 26, 2026Every wellness center owner knows the moment. You're deep in payroll, or mid-crisis-management email, or finally in the zone on something that's been on your to-do list for weeks—and small feet appear at your office door. This episode is for that moment. And for everything that comes after.
In one of the most unique and heartwarming episodes in the Wellness Center Creators library, Kendall steps aside and hands the microphone to Pauline and Winnie, her two daughters, who requested this appearance themselves, came prepared with questions they wrote, and delivered something unexpectedly profound between the giggles.
The episode opens with the girls sharing what it's like having a mom who owns a wellness center. Pauline leads with genuine pride: "She gets to lead a bunch of people in a business and I just think Vancouver Wellness Studio is awesome." Winnie follows with a practical appreciation: "We get a lot of perks like getting a massage." But both quickly acknowledge the harder side. Winnie admits: "Sometimes you're away a lot and I don't get to hug you that much." Pauline echoes: "Mom is usually either at work or in her office doing something and we can't bother her."
These aren't complaints—they're honest observations from kids who clearly understand and respect what their mom is building, even when it costs them some couch time.
The conversation turns delightfully to future ambitions. Winnie is considering gymnastics or teaching. Pauline, who has already run a "Pretty Kitties" cat drawings business at the junior market and recently taken up crocheting, has her eyes set on Broadway and movies—with perhaps a few small businesses along the way. Both have podcast ideas: Winnie would teach tiny kids how to be healthy ("Give them chocolate-flavored toothpaste so they like brushing their teeth"), while Pauline would share crochet patterns and what it's like wanting to be an actress. There's even a planned YouTube channel featuring their seven-pound Yorkie, Birdie.
The wellness wisdom section is where the episode surprises most. When Kendall asks what they've learned about health from growing up around Vancouver Wellness Studio, the girls deliver genuinely complete answers. Pauline: "You gotta take care of your body, but you also gotta take care of your mind. Because if you don't take care of your mind, you might go mad, but your body will be healthy." Winnie adds the dietary specifics: "You always gotta have at least some protein on your plate or else you won't feel full."
Their advice for other kids of wellness center owners is touchingly practical. Pauline: "When your business owner parent is in the zone, let them stay in the zone... they might forget what they're doing if they give you a hug real quick. So you just gotta wait till they're finished." Winnie, with a grin in her voice, references the office door's do-not-disturb signal—and Kendall's apparent "shoo, shoo" tendency, which Kendall denies entirely.
But the episode's most memorable moment belongs to Pauline's closing message, unprompted and entirely her own: "If you ever feel like giving up on your business, don't give up. You should always keep going. Because when you achieve what you want to achieve, it feels really good. And then there's something in the world that wasn't there before. And it would probably help people, just like Vancouver Wellness Studio did. And to all the listeners today—the community needs you."
For any wellness center owner who's ever wondered whether the sacrifices are visible to the people they love most, or whether any of it lands—this episode answers that question with warmth, humor, and one very eloquent kid's perspective on why the work matters.
